First time I heard this news, I was terribly shocked. Read TL and someone tweet about Steve Jobs has passed away. After I arrived at my office, suddenly I searched for news from some e-news media. Here’s what I read from TempoInteraktif :
Founder and former CEO of Apple Inc. Steve Jobs dies at the age to 56 years after years of fighting against cancer and other diseases. The death was announced Best American CEO of Apple Inc. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 evening.
“We are very sad to announce that Steve Jobs, passed away today” the statement Apple’s Board of Directors in BussinesWire. As quoted by the Associated Press, Apple called intelligence, passion, energy and Jobs became the source of tremendous innovation. “The world is better because of Steve”.
As is known, Jobs experienced health problems and look thinner since the mid-2000s.He was treated for pancreatic cancer and underwent a liver transplant in 2009. Because of his health, Jobs had to take a sabbatical from the company and choose the retreat of the CEO in August 2011. Late last August, Steve Jobs appeared in several photographs in a number of online and print media. In the photo, Jobs, founder of Apple Inc, looking very thin, weak and haggard. Jobs wearing a long sleeve black shirt, black shorts, and sandals. Jobs looks much thinner than his appearance two months ago. In the photo that appeared in the Daily Mail, Sunday, August 28, 2011, Jobs looks being carried by someone wearing a blue shirt and brown plaid pants. This photo was taken outside his home in California.
Resigned his position as President Director (CEO) of Apple Inc., Jobs was replaced Tim Cook who is currently Director of Operations or Chief Operating Officer. In his letter Wednesday, August 24, 2011 to the Board of Directors of Apple, Jobs said the only resigned his position, but not as a member of the Board of Directors and employees of Apple.
“I always say when I can no longer perform the task, then I will tell when it’s time,” Jobs said as quoted from the New York Times, Thursday, August 25, 2011. “And that day has now arrived.” Although retired, he did not mention because of illness. Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco on February 24, 1955. In the late 1970s he founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and Mike Markkula.
